Size from the products with caps and pumps on, lay out one insert cavity per product, then add clearance. The insert, not the outer box, decides the final size.

What size box do I need for a skincare set?
Start at about 200 × 150 × 80 mm interior for a set, or 220 × 160 × 80 mm for a 2–5 product routine with one cavity per product. Lay the products out the way the customer should see them, with caps, pumps and droppers on, and measure the footprint of the layout plus the insert walls between cavities. The tallest item sets the box height.

What size is a perfume box?
A 100 ml perfume box starts at about 110 × 90 × 160 mm interior (4.3 × 3.5 × 6.3 in), in a vertical format. Common bottle sizes are 30–100 ml, but the same volume comes in very different shapes, so the box is sized from your bottle drawing or a sample bottle. What size box fits lipstick and makeup?
A single lipstick goes in a printed folding carton sized to the tube; a lipstick set goes in a small rigid box with one insert slot per lipstick. Mixed makeup sets use a magnetic box with a modular insert so each palette, brush and tube has its own place. We make the paper packaging around the tube; send the tube or component drawing so the slots are cut to the real size.
How much clearance should a cosmetic box have?
For a fitted cavity, our size guide's worked example uses 3 mm per side: a 90 × 60 × 30 mm product needs at least a 96 × 66 × 36 mm cavity. Measure each product at its widest point with the cap on. A jar may need two finger scallops, a pump a shoulder cutout and a dropper access that avoids pulling its cap; these removal clearances enlarge the cavity, so approve them on a loaded sample.
Give the factory the interior size or the products themselves. The outside size is the interior plus the board and wrap on each side, worked out from the dieline.
Which insert and board for cosmetic boxes?
- EVA foam: holds glass bottles and droppers tightly; can be velvet-flocked.
- Molded pulp: for plastic-free kits.
- Card or velvet-wrapped inserts: for palettes and lipsticks.

Board is chosen by the longest box dimension and the filled weight. GSM is mass per area, so the thickness values are nominal; record measured thickness on the approved sample. Detail in the gift box materials guide.
