Candle Gift Box Packaging Manufacturer
Book-style magnetic boxes with inserts developed around the filled candle jar, intended route and agreed damage criteria. Gold foil branding and a clean lift-out reveal support home-fragrance retail presentation. Factory-direct with a 100-pc MOQ.
Glass-Safe Packaging That Sells the Ritual
Candle brands lose money in two places: broken jars in transit, and packaging that undersells a premium product. This format addresses both through an insert sampled with the filled jar and a book-style magnetic lid that opens flat for a clean, giftable reveal.
The insert can sit below the rim line so the label and wax face avoid unwanted contact; a finger notch gives the customer a practical removal path. Matte lamination with gold foil is the stocked finish; soft-touch and linen textures are available.
Works for single jars from 60mm to 110mm diameter, twin sets and discovery minis, subject to sampling with the real container. Pair with the candle industry solutions page or the cylinder tube format for travel tins.

What Should a Candle Gift Box Protect?
Short answer: Design the box around the filled jar, not an empty container drawing. The insert must limit side movement, support the jar without loading the lid or wick, leave a practical finger-removal path, and be tested with the finished pack. Jar weight, glass profile, insert material and courier route all affect the final specification.
Approve the Jar, Insert and Box as One System
A candle carton cannot be qualified from board thickness alone. Record the filled jar mass, maximum body diameter, shoulder and base profile, lid projection and the points that may safely contact an insert. A collar that looks tight around an empty jar can become difficult to remove after filling, while a loose collar lets the glass build momentum before impact.
The International Safe Transit Association explains that packaged-product testing evaluates the product and package together, and recommends retesting when the product, package, material, component or distribution system changes. Use that principle during sampling: approve movement, removal and visible damage criteria with the exact production jar and candle. See ISTA retesting guidance.
- Send one filled, closed production jar for each size and weight family.
- Mark surfaces that may not be rubbed, compressed or touched by the insert.
- Define whether the presentation box ships inside a corrugated mailer or acts as the shipping pack.
- Repeat the agreed check when the jar, lid, insert, board or delivery route changes.
Choose the Insert by Failure Mode
| Insert route | Best use | Approval risk |
|---|---|---|
| Paperboard collar | Light jars, recyclable presentation and flat-packed components | Check fold recovery, edge pressure and movement after repeated removal |
| Moulded pulp | Plastic-reduction programmes and shaped support | Confirm surface texture, colour variation and production tolerance |
| Foam | Fragile glass or complex mixed sets requiring controlled support | Confirm odour, compression recovery, recyclability claim and destination rules |

Worked approval example
A brand using one outer box for two candle scents should not assume the same insert because both labels list the same fill weight. One jar may have a thicker base, wider shoulder or different lid overhang. The approval record should name the exact jar version, filled weight, insert revision and outer-box revision, then state the allowed movement, removal method and visible-damage limit. If only the fragrance changes and every physical component remains identical, the signed pack can remain the reference. If the glass supplier, jar profile, lid, wax fill, insert material or delivery route changes, review the pack again before releasing the next run. This turns “protect the candle” into a repeatable purchasing decision instead of an unsupported promise.
Also separate presentation approval from transit approval. Colour, foil position and the unboxing reveal can be signed off on a presentation sample, while courier protection must be judged with the filled jar and any outer shipper. Recording both decisions prevents a visually approved prototype from being treated as proof of distribution performance.
